Two specific fashion collaborations are coming up, and I think they may go the way of Julian Louie and Aldo Shoes (aka SOLD OUT).
One is H&M’s upcoming fall collaboration with designers from Versace Fashion House. The sneak peeks are actually quite exciting, showing lots of bright colors, pretty details and demure silouhettes. It’ll be available in stores in November 2011.
The second is Kanye West! Yes, the brilliant mind behind and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is making his foray into the womenswear fashion world. And of course he’s not collaborating with himself (though, doesn’t that sound like something he would do?), but with Louise Goldin, graduate of the famed British fashion school, Central Saint Martin. One of Goldin’s former professors told some media outlets, “I warn against dismissing it in haste. There are those who might assume Louise will be doing all the work and Kanye is just the face, I don’t believe this will be the case – he researches thoroughly and is hands on and committed to his work.”
Not only that, but Goldin’s work in and of itself is characterized by balanced architectural structure flirting with whimsy. I’m excited to see the collabo!
