Last night, at a bar – where the most memorable Yelp reviews complained about how ‘no matter what you do there will be a dick on your leg’ – this song came on, and the growl and yowl of Etta James put a giant smile on my face. (And no, there were no dicks on legs, but it might have been too early for that.)
Other things that put giant smiles on faces:
1) Chocolate, yes chocolate. And I learned a lot more about it than I even thought possible last night. From Clay Gordon himself, the author of , and the founder of The Chocolate Life website. The book is quite lovely, and his opinion of people who work with chocolate – “They’re mostly very happy,” – was uplifting, though not surprising.
2) Also the Kahbang Festival in Bangor, Maine just announced their lineup and it looks very exciting. More details on that to follow. Flier below.
3) The fact that it’s Friday the 13th, and I’m feeling exceptionally lucky.
